SO Busy!

Every day and every way, the Dynamos have been "sewing up" their learning. They have come so far, in their learning and in working together as a team. I'm so proud of their collaboration, support of one another, and joy of learning.

2017 is off to an amazing start with technology, skill-building, and critical thinking. Go, Dynamos!

What is it?

We had a great week last week with lots of STEM-y hands-on learning. Our Dynamos devised their own craft project for Fall to illustrate Narrative and Expository writing elements.

They wanted a design challenge for language arts, so I provided them with a set number of Jenga blocks and big popsicle sticks. They designed, built, and rebuilt structures and then wrote about what they made. They were engaged and very clever! One is a hospital with a helicopter landing pad. Can you tell which one?

Love learning

This week was busy with the Dynamos! Students had lots of choices as to their learning tasks. One student designed her own math game; another made great choices to work independently, another used his voice device to help him communicate even better! AND, we designed our own ants in so many different ways, and wrote about them. It was a good week!

Place Value

This past week was all about building a love for math and language arts. Scholars have worked hard and enjoyed playing games about place value-we played dice roll place value, and a bean bag toss game, up to 100,000s! We supported our learning with writing our big numbers out in expanded form, standard, and written. It was a great week of learning!
